About the Company

 

New International Encounter (NIE) is an international award winning company that creates new theatre shows and participation projects with young people through a mix of physical theatre, live music, storytelling and a ensemble of actor/musicians. We create spellbinding theatre working in 32 countries spanning 3 continents, from New York to Shanghai and counting! Most recently we premiered Snow White, our co-production with Cambridge Junction and Tobacco Factory Theatres in Cambridge December 2018.

We are an Associate Company at Cambridge Junction where we have our UK office, as well as a foundation in Norway where we have an office in Asker. We are part of the National Portfolio of organisations funded by Arts Council England, and in Norway, the company is supported by Arts Council Norway. NIE works on the Activate project with Coleridge Community College, My Cambridge and Arts partners across the city.
